Board of European Students of Technology

is a constantly growing non-profit and non-political organisation. Since 1989 we provide communication, co-operation and exchange possibilities for students all over Europe.

Local BEST Group Budapest (LBG Budapest)

was established in 1989, as one of the founding members of the international organization. Due to the constant growth of our local group, nowadays our courses and engineering competitions are organized by about 25 active volunteer members, with aid from our Alumni. Our members receive basic training and knowledge transfers after they join the organization. Later, when they start working on projects in teams, we provide them with adequate, advanced-level training.

During the spring of 2017, Budapest hosts the regional round of the EBEC, the EBEC Central.

EBEC Central

EBEC Central is one of the fifteen regional rounds of EBEC. It is organized by five Local BEST groups: Prague, Brno, Budapest, Kosice, Bratislava. This year EBEC central takes place in Budapest between 18th of April – 21st of April 2017.

The Students apply for the competition in teams of 4, in two categories: Team Design and Case Study.

Team Design

The students have to design and build a working device that can properly execute a certain task. The available resources are given and limited, just like at every company. Besides their knowledge, they must use their creativity and imagination as well. After completion, each team has to briefly introduce their device and demonstrate how it works. Based on that, the jury evaluates their work.

Case Study

This category consists of providing a solution to a technical or a management problem with no actual construction of any device or assembling of materials ( for example allocating resources, reducing CO2 emission, etc. ) on paper and present their work to the jury.
